I have a ceiling fan, when you push the button for lights the led light does not light up and no lights come on. Ceiling fan otherwise works perfectly. Can this light problem be fixed?? Or do I buy a universal remote?

First step is to replace the remotes batteries. How do you turn on the fan without the remote?
