As a result of having BCG Chemotherapy I am told to add two cups of bleach to the toilet bowl (and leave it there for fifteen minutes) after each pee. In light of the preceding comments I am fearful of stuffing my septic tank up, or subjecting the rest of the household to a dose of tuberculosis! Any thoughts please?

For how long are you supposed to do this?

Bleach is at the most, 5% hypochlorite meaning 95% water to start, then you flush the toilet and add another 2 gallons. If you use bleach in your washer you are basically doing the same thing. Pee 3X, flush 1X.

I'm curious! Who told you to add bleach to your toilet bowl? I am both a plumber and a cancer patient and I have never heard of such a order. Can you give us a reason for all this? Back to you, Tom

I guess since this is a "necessary evil", and it has been recommended by your physician, that you do what you have to do and then periodically follow up the bleach washes with a bit of RID-X (or similar septic tank support product) periodically.

In fact, with what you present I would actually call the people over at RID-X and see what they think about this... should have some engineers with answers to a complex question:

So what happens if y and everybody around ou don't add bleach? The drain field is contaminated? The septic tank is full of TB germs and everybody is at risk? And by the way, what is the risk? Again, I'm just curious. Regards, Tom

Exactly why Ec-pc should call RID-X (or similar company) and see what they think of this! Hopefully, Ec-pc will do this and report back with result!
