    Refrigerator water line
On vacation - I turn off main water supply to house - should I turn off ice maker as well? Once coming back from vacation fridge water line was frozen. How to prevent? Thanks

You should disconnect the line and drain it just like the house line. When you drained the main line, the 1/4" ice maker line did not drain since it was vacuum trapped.

    Hmmm

Unless this is a vacation home with no heat available you don't ever drain the lines guys... just shut off the water to the home... all that needs to be done when going on vacation. Oh, that and set the water heater to the vacation setting (gas heater) or shut off the electricity to the electric water heater... ;)

In terms of the frozen line at the refrigerator, lifting the ice arm will temporarily shut off the ice maker itself... that should help. Maybe pulling the 'fridge forward a little to allow air to circulate will also help, but you shouldn't have to drain the line here.

    Just my two cents!
