    Windshield repair or replacement?
What do you think is better- windshield repair or replacement? I have a slight crack in the glass in the right hand corner, some say I should get it repaired but my elder brother says I should get it replaced. Please advice.

Small cracks not in main line of sight, a repair should be fine, and costs very little.

    Most fix the problem.

Obviously the best choice is to replace the windshield... but that doesn't mean it is the only choice. There are glass companies all over that fix small cracks and chips on a regular basis and they last for the life of the car... usually quite a bit cheaper than a new windshield also. I would take the car to one of these places and ask them to look at it and tell you if they can repair it. If they say they can, that's the way I would go.

Thank you so much for the reply. I think I would get the glass repaired because I think it is in the corner and not hindering my view. If in case it gets bigger till I reach the auto glass repair shop I would get it replaced. :)

Depends on the length of the crack also.
    From Safelite site:
"SafeliteŽ can generally repair windshield chips or cracks up to the length of a dollar bill. The repair process stops windshield damage from spreading further and leaves the factory seal around the glass intact. In most cases, a repair can be completed in less than 30 minutes and can cost less than a full windshield replacement. "

I like that factory seal part too when it is a choice on repair or replace. The windshield is an important structural element of a vehicle especially in a rollover accident, and proper installation is very critical.

Also some Insurance Companies will pay for a repair instead of a windshield replacement. Meaning that they would much rather
Pay for a repair instead of a replacement, check with ins. co.
