    Widen a wooden double bed to queen size with Paxton hardware brackets.
    I am starting a project widen a double bed to queen-size with hardware brackets from Paxton Hardware, can anyone give me pointers on this?

    The queen mattress is only 6" wider so you need to move the attachment point out 3" on each side. Paxton mounts are for old style hook siderails. Is this what you have? Most new headboards are set up for full or queen. The new brackets are attached to the headboard and footboard by using the old slot and a spacer block. Look at the Paxton website. Search "Bed Rails".

    Yes, that is what I am attempting. The problem is installing the brackets into the old bed requires cutting the old pins out an widening the slots. How is the best way to do this?

    Drive the old pins out with a punch. Might need a chisel or small plunge type saw to widen the slot.
