Is there a difference in routers?
We have just signed up for DSL and the router came today...

We have our own router that we have been using... do I have to hook up their router? Is there a difference in cable routers and DSL routers?

Yes there is a difference. They are actually modems that translate the signals back to digital signals that your computer can use. The signal that comes out of your ISP's modem on the ethernet cable is the one that you can plug into a home network router.

    I was mistaken...

I wish my son was home from college <blush>

We have a modem that we used with the cable... our DSL ISP sent a new modem... we also have a wireless router...

All this hurts my head! Lol

Then you are good to go. That wireless router performs the same function as before. :)
