My 55" TV is plugged into a 120 outlet and it says it has 1.2amps. What's the wattage?
I want to use a generator to run my television when there is a power outage. I am trying to know what wattage my TV will take from the generator. Thank You

About 130. Per hour. Practically nothing.

Using the formula Watts = Voltage X Amperage X Power Factor:

    120 X 1.2 X 1 + 144 Watts.

As Joy mentioned, this is a negligible amount all by its self, I would not spend much time worrying about the Wattage. However, unless the TV is on a dedicated circuit, you have to plan for all devices on that circuit.

Also, you have to make sure that your generator is on a disconnect switch that isolates the generator from the POCO supplied circuit.

I think I'm one of those people who still thinks 110.
