Furnace goes on for about 5 seconds and shuts off (repeats)
I have a GE Goodman 115 volt single phase furnace. Plain furnace with hot surface ignitor. I replaced the flame sensor and the problem still exits. Start up for 5 seconds with full flames and than shuts off. Hot surface ignitor does glow for the 5 seconds and than goes out about the same time the burners shut down.

The furnace is failing to sense the flame for some reason. Check all of the ground wires for clean, tight connection. Be sure to also check the mounting bracket for the flame sensor. Use some fine sandpaper to clean the bracket & surface to which it mounts.
If grounding isn't the problem, chances are it's a board.

Thanks for getting back to me. I put a new flame sensor in with no change in results. Next I will try cleaning the grounds and connections if this fails I will check out replacing the board.
