    Wiring
I purchased a leviton timer for a bathroom fan. This fan has two switchs, one in the bathroom and one down in the family room. I removed the switch in the bathroom, this left mw with a black, white and red wire exposed. The timer has 5 wires, white, black, red, green and red/yellow wire.
I hooked up the black to black (come off the light switch), white to white, Green to ground, red to red, and red/yellow to red. I get the LED lights on the timer, but no fan.

    Thanks

The colors of the wires on the timer mean nothing. You must go by the instructions provided with the timer.
Is it a timer capable of replacing a 3-way switch? Some are not.

With a 3-way switch, two of the wires are called travelers, and the other is the "common".

If you can provide the model number of the timer we may be able to look up the instructions, or you could provide a link.

Sounds like a 3 way switch but why for a fan. Typical timer would be a 2 pole with 2 or 3 wires and they are connected just like a standard switch. What did the instructions say.
