Served summons&complaint for credit card debt
    Hello,
I live in Michigan. I was served a summons and complaint twenty minutes ago for failure to pay for credit that I obtained about 5-6 years ago. Asset Acceptance purchased all 3 of the charge cards that I was unable to pay due to divorce and low paying jobs. I am now remarried, but I own no car and my husband's home and properties are in his name only. Can they win a judgement against me when I make only $650.00 a month? Can they make him pay? We've been married for only 2 years. They say I owe $4554.20.

File notice of intend to defend. Your new husband doesn't have to pay, check the SOL for your state. If you don't show up in court they will win by default. Make them prove there claim against you. Demand tothey produce the original contract, demand to produce what they purchased the debt for.
