Medications and trying to get pregnant.
My fiancé and I are really wanting to have a baby. We have been having unprotected sex for about 9 months now. I was on the Depo shot and got off it before I started having sex with him. I know it isn't the Depo shot because my sister and I got the shots at the same time and got off at the same time and she is now pregnant. He does take a few medications such as Xanax, suboxen, cialias, and vivance. I'm wondering if him and I are able to get pregnant. It's breaking our hearts because we have yet to get pregnant. Please help us.

First of all, it can take upwards of a year or more for the average healthy couple to conceive. Second of all, you were on Depo, which is considered a long term birth control and can remain in your system as long as 18 months before conception is possible.

While some women do fall pregnant right after stopping Depo, or even while ON Depo, that is not the norm or the average. Your sister was just one of the lucky ones.
