puppy goes out 50 times, then comes in to poop!
Help! My little 5 month old puggle, Wanda May, will ask (scratch at the door) to go out and we'll take her out and she'll just hang out there. She is extremely easily distracted (very much like a beagle), and then she never goes to the bathroom. Only early in the morning does she go right out and go potty. For example, this morning in about an hour and a half I have taken her out 8 times, then about 1 minute after the 8th time she pooped in the kitchen! Not only that but her and our other puggle (Kosmo Kramer, 9 months) eat the poop! Does anyone have any suggestions?? I am so fed up with this! Thanks = )

Bunch of tough questions today. I think I can help you on this one. Make her walk around while she is outside. It may take a while, but they can't hold it and walk too long. Then praise her when she finally has to go. Then walk a little more so she doesn't catch on to the walk ending as soon as she has a bowel movement.

Eating feces is a common problem. The good news is that it is is worse for the owner's stomach than anything else. I try to manage by prompt clean up. You can also add stuff to the food, pineapple juice or canned pumpkin, or the commercial products Deter or Forbid.

Thanks! We have actually just started walking her across the street up and down the fence line and in this little field and she almost always goes. I will try your suggestions about the eating problem though, thanks!

I noticed a huge difference when I started walking my dog in the back alley, away from distractions. Your going to have a few more accidents before they are completely house trained... I just went through this... GOOD LUCK and don't worry it will happan.
