Does inserting a tampon hurt?I'm 13 and started my period when I was almost 12.I am tired of using pads... although my period lasts for 3-4 days.I just need advice on how to insert one and what would be the best brand to use?And also,does it hurt?

There are junior (thinner) sizes, so look for those. Be sure to read the instructions. Your vagina tilts slightly, so you have to insert the tampon at an angle, otherwise you scream.

Has your mom approved of tampons for your use?

Be sure to use the smaller, thinner ones made for young girls just starting to use them. If it doesn't go in very easily, don't force it. You may have to stay with pads for a bit longer.
