I suggest you wait to get pregnant. You are too young and not married. Do you strive to be a single mother?

Why do you want to get pregnant and mess up your life at this age?

Babies don't love you. All they do is want something -- all the time.

And at your age, the chance of having a mentally or physically disabled baby is larger than normal. Plus you have had no real life yet, and being responsible for someone else for the next 18+ years will take away all your autonomy and opportunity to do what you want to when you want to.

And how long will this boyfriend be in your life?

It's not a risk. It's a sure thing. Babies consume ALL of your time.

And babies are hugely expensive, even just for basic needs. Can you afford to buy disposable diapers -- babies need to be changed many times a day. And will you breastfeed (or will you even be able to?) -- formula is hugely expensive too. And that's not even counting tons of other stuff you will need just for BASICS.

Oh, and babies grow fast, so lots of new sizes have to be bought or found somewhere so the child has something to wear. Which means that baby will soon be a toddler and walking and into everything and then will be a willful child who won't listen.

I'm not going to call you crazy, I'm going to call you irresponsible. Having a child means taking on a responsibility to care for and support a new life. Do you have a clue what it costs to raise a child? What you will be responsible for?

At 18, you are having sex and don't have a clue about ejaculation, so what will make me think you will be smart enough to raise a child?

You are running out of patience at 18? How much patience are you going to have when your baby is screaming ad you can't figure out what is wrong?

You are a foolish, irresponsible child. You have no business being a mother yet.

They weren't smart remarks. They were as truthful as I could say them. You've had sex twice and admitted you don't know what you are doing. I'm going by that. I can't imagine thinking of getting pregnant and not even knowing how sex works -- and thinking you will be able to raise a child.

I had my daughter read this thread, she is 22, single, and raising her 2 1/2 year old son.

This particular statement she could totally agree with, especially the "all the time" part.

    Now this comment from you.
"Because i want someone to love since i never experienced it for myself.."

This comment resulted in a sad smile and a slow shake of her head.
We talked about it for a while and at the end of our conversation I asked if she had it all to do over again regardless of your love for your child, would it be different?
Her answer was Yes it would be different she would not have had a child so young (and she was 20)
The fact is her life hadn't even gotten off the ground, she is just now getting back into her education. Ad even now she is not able to concentrate on just her education, she has so many other responsibilities that she also has to work and take care of a child.
That is a full day for a person so young.
It's not all sunshine and roses---it's sleepless nights, poop and vomit.
It is a HUGE responsibility and should not be taken lightly.
