    Gray hair on my child
My question is that I have a 9 year old daughter. A few months ago I noticed that her hair started changing colors. The top part of her hair is dark brown but has strainds of blonde, red and lite brown. The hair underneath towards her neck is lite brown. Its so noticeable that people will ask me why I dye her hair at a young age. My concern though is about 3 weeks ago I noticed gray hair.. Its not a lot but well more than a 9 year old should have. Gray hair does not run in either side of mine or her fathers family besides old age. No premature graying. My daughter is healthy, no health issues besides the common cold or flu. Please help not sure what is causing this...

Are you sure it is gray and not blonde? Has she been out in the sun? Swimming? Pools?

Vitamin deficiency of the B vitamins specifically are thought to be the cause of graying at a young age; talk to her paediatrician.

@nohelp, yes I know that. Lack of B6 and B12 in youngsters propagates gray hair.

B-12, B -9 (folic acid), B-6, B 5 (pantothenic acid), biotin and vitamin D, magnesium, omega fatty acid, zinc and possible copper. You want to be careful to not get too much copper or zinc.
Deficiency can lead to melanin deficiency (the pigment that gives hair color), causing grey hair.
