    16 weeks pregnant
    Hi
I am 16 years old. I am married 5 months back and now I am 16 weeks pregnant. I am worried about my baby because it has a very small size after 16 weeks. I have consulted my doctor yesterday. She took ultrasound. Results o that ultrasound are as under
    1. No. of Foetuses-- Single
    2. Presentation----- Breech
    3. Fetal Heart------ Positive
    4. BPD------------ 3.5 cm
    5. FL-------------- 2.2 cm
    6. POG------------ 16 weeks
    7. Amiotic Fluid---- Adequate

Please help me by telling that will my baby be safe and sound?
Will it be healthy at the time of birth?
Will it gain its size and weight at the time of birth?

Test results should not be given to the patient before the doctor can explain them.
Keep in mind that unless you had sex only once, you really don't know when you conceived. It's all guesswork, usually accurate within about + or - 2 weeks, but women get dates of last period wrong, doctors write down dates wrong, ultrasound technicians measure wrong or write down numbers wrong (or meant inches instead of centimeters) - all errors that need to be clarified before you start thinking about medical problems.
Yes, 3.5 cm is small for 16 weeks, or even 14. Call your doctor, but meanwhile try not to worry.

At 16 weeks it is too early to tell whether it will be healthy at birth. There is no way at this point in your gestation to gauge the health of the fetus, or you for that matter.

At 16 years old, you run a high risk of a number of insults such as pregnancy induced hypertension and gestational diabetes just to name two. These can be both dangerous to mother and baby. Your body is not done growing itself, now it has to grow another human being.

All you can do, at this point, is to take your prenatal vitamins, get plenty of rest, eat healthy, and avoid alcohol, tobacco and drugs.
