    Heating and A/C
Good morning, I live in Georgia and we tried to start our A/C yesterday. The compressor never turned on however the fan from the furnace did. Now the fan in the furnace will not turn off even when I remove the thermostat. The only way to turn off fan is to "kill" power to the furnace however when power is restored the fan goes on right a way I assume that the fan relay maybe stuck on. But do I have 2 problems maybe the compressor relay stuck off?

Thanks ps I am an electrian so I can play some what with the system but I am not a HVAC expert by any means.

Yes you could have a stuck fan relay. Since you are a electrician you can test that and also check for the t-stat wiring for continunity and grounding. I would check the fuses or breakers for the outside unit. See if there is a 24 volt signal going to the contactor/starter for the compressor. If you have 24 volts the coil should be pulled in to run the unit.
