    Maytag dryer squeaking
I have a Maytag LDE9606ACE. It is 16 years old but not used often as it is a weekend home. Just recently it has started to squeal when I turn it on but after a few minutes it stops. However this is happening every time that I load it and I am wondering is it the belt or the rollers or.. And how can I fix it.
    Thank you,
    Sydelle

    Hi TT

When I hear "dryer squeal" I think DRYER DRUM FELT SEAL issues. Here, the felt lining(s) that reduces friction between the dryer drum and the other appliance parts may have worn down and need to replaced.

Click on the video to see how to replace the seals:

If this doesn't sound like your issue post back with any more details you think might help us... ;)

Some dryers have a knob shaft that comes off the back of the drum and rests in a bronze or plastic bearing. Once these wear out, it will start squeaking. Could be a possibility. Probably can tell by raising the top cover on the dryer.
