What is the movie called that has this guy who fines this elf that looks like the elf from dark crystal. I can't remember much of it but I know there is a part where the man accidentally leads a funeral procession. It came out early 90s or mid to late 80s.

Gnorm is just an average gnome who wants to impress the lady gnomes by doing something heroic. So, he steals the gnomes' magic stones to expose them to sunlight to recharge them. Detective Casey, who was working a sting operation with the murdered man (another detective), is blamed for botching the sting and causing the death. Wanting to catch the killer to clear his name, he teams up with Gnorm, whom he accidentally discovers. He is going to need Samantha's help, but she thinks he is a nut. You see, no one else knows about Gnorm.
