Our AC does great until around 1 p.m. Then it starts blowing warmer air for a couple of hours. Around 3-4 p.m. it will start blowing cold air again like nothing ever happened!

Sounds like solar load is overcoming the BTU capacity of unit. Where is evaporator and air handler. Any shade? Good attic insulation?
