I am a 1st time mom to a daughter who is about to be a year old. Is it just me or can children this young already get attitudes. My husbands says he wonders where she gets it from! She's a really good baby, but lately she has been hitting both my husband and I in the face if she doesn't like our tone of voice or if we are getting on to her. We have basically been tellling her that it is not nice to hit in a stern voice and that it hurts which only hurts her feelings and makes her cry. Any one have any suggestions out there as to how to get our 1 year old to stop hitting us?

You need to make sure that she knows that you are in charge? Are you doing any type of displine? My son went through this stage and I kept putig him in time out... he finally understood that hitting was not okay. You need to be consistnet with her or she will keep hitting you... this is when they start to push the boundaries to see what they can get away with.

And a swat on the rear gets the message across very clear after you get tired of all that making them understand.
