I got my implant removed and replaced with the non hormonal coil about 5 weeks ago. I've been having many pregnant like symptoms. Sore boobs, headaches, change in my appetite etc. I have also been waiting for my period to come on. Doc said if I haven't bled by the 5th (today) then to take a home test, but I have been getting period like cramps, but no period. How long should I wait to see if my period does come? Should I do a home test or wait?

I'm curious... where does everyone get their information of these "mythical "pregnancy symptoms from... The only real one is missed periods, MOST women get sore boobs when their period is due... change in appetite.. ALL people get from time to time.. male and female...

You have to wait until your period is 14 days late... to test if you want reliable results... if you take it sooner you might get a negative even if you actually are.

The change from the hormone inplant to no hormone is most likely the cause for this, your body has to adjust to the hormonal changes. But pregnancy is always a chance if you are sexually active.

Can not tell exactly when your period was due, but you have to be 2 week late to do a pregnancy test at home. and then only with first urine of the morning.

Well my period shouldn't take 5 weeks to come. Ill just listen to my doctor and do a test then.
