Can I get scammed by giving out address?
So, I have been hitting all the online job boards looking for work, and this guy {name removed} sent me an email saying he saw my resume and wants to hire me to manage a small electrical parts store he is setting up in my area.
He wants me to send him my full name, mailing address and phone number to continue this process.
I am tempted, but wary of giving out even such seemingly innocuous information. This isn't a get rich quick proposition, he says he needs me to man his shop about 5 hours a day, 5 days a week for about 500.00 weekly.
Am I safe giving out this information?
And can anyone out there trace his email address for me and let me know who this person is?

    Can't trace webmail addresses.

Easiest solution is to turn the tables, say you are more comfortable contacting him. Ask for his work address and telephone number.

That's good advice. If he is legitimate, he should have no problem giving this information to you.

Yes, I did that, now I wait to see what his response is... If he gets all angry or abusive I guess I will have my answer. In any case he doesn't write like someone who is in business for himself; sloppy grammar and run-on sentences.

Also, even if it does seem legitimate at first, still be cautious just in case. You can never be too careful.

I just noticed; he got my resume from Indeed.com, a reputable online job site. This makes it seem more on the up and up. Now I am really tempted...

My question is whether this is a job your resume indicates you are qualified for.

No, lots of spam and scams from people who search monster, Yahoo and other job sites. Scammers use all of the legit sites.

But your name and mailing address can be found online easy.

But this is not the normal start of any common scam

Good idea to reverse the tables, but I can trace email addresses.
I can't here because it has been removed.

Web mail will only show you the server farm that was used for that mail delivery. It could be hundreds of kilometers away from the user's location.

Pretty sure that doesn't help if you have just a webmail address. If someone forwarded me a message from the person that's another story.
