Hi there! Not sure what happened, but this isn't good! One minute my kids were brushing their teeth, five minutes later, no water. In my house, at the spigot and hose, anywhere! I can hear the pump running at the well... and I tried flipping the breaker to see if that helped, but it didn't. I don't know what to do next. We've had plenty of rain lately, so I don't think our well is in danger of running dry... and no one has been running it like crazy today or anything. Thanks in advance for any help!!

Well, my husband thinks the pressure bladder burst. So when he gets home in the morning, I reckon we'll check that out! This assumption is based on the fact that the pump is running continuously and there's no water pressure! ;D He's a smart guy. I'll update again in the morning when we can look at it in the daylight. Then maybe myself answered thread can help someone else!

Sorry but it isn't going to be a ruptured bladder. If the pump is running you should have water unless you have a broken or blocked pipe. You said you can hear the pump running at the well. That indicates you have a submersible pump. If that is correct you really should not be able to hear the pump unless you have a really shallow well.
If by "hear the pump running" you mean you hear the sound of running water in the well, that probably means you have a broken well pipe.

Regardless turn the breaker off to avoid damaging the pump.

Can't hear water running, just the sound of a mechanical pump. Hmm... still probably won't get any real answers until it's light out. And of course we turned the breaker off. :-)

He just got home and apparently I'm just explaining his explanation much more simply than it is. Or it could be a service valve. :-) He's pretty confident in fixing it... he usually does! Lol! More to come in the morning!

If the pump is running but you have no water, then the first thing I'm going to look at is the pressure gauge. If it is around zero, and the pump is running, then you start thinking some kind of pump issue.

Okay... so problem solved. Sort of. The pressure gauge was fine, and this morning, I had water again after leaving my pump breaker off all night. When we cut it back on, it kept filling up and cutting on every 30 seconds or so... we have a diverter that runs water to my parents' camper in my back yard, and when we cut the water off to their place at the diverter, everything started working fine. So apparently they have a leak in THEIR line that must have drained my well last night. So glad to be able to take a shower this morning, and flush! (Especially since one of my kids woke up with a tummy bug!) Thanks all for your help. I guess my next fix is to find a permanent home for my mom and dad! LOL!
