The only reason to get your ear pierced, or any part of your body pierced, is because you like the look. If you're looking for an actual reason, one that will convince your dad, good luck.

There is not medical condition that requires piercing, there are no jobs that require piercings, piercings won't make you more successful, or smarter. They are what they are, and people only get them for one reason.

Sounds like dad has his reasons not to let you get one. If that's the case, wait until you're 18, then you can pierce whatever you want.

    And maybe he regrets it.

    How old are you?

Has he told you why he doesn't want you getting one?

Bottom line, it doesn't matter what your dad did or when he did it. Many things that we do as children, we regret as adults. Then, when we have our children, we make rules to protect them from the mistakes we made. The rules parents make are the rules a child has to follow.

If dad says no, it's no until you're an adult and can make your own decisions.
