We paid a pet deposit when we moved in. Now that we are moved out, the landlord says that the dogs did more damage than the deposit was. Can they ask for additional funds or is the pet damage capped at what the pet deposit was? I live in Lyon county in Nevada. Thanks...

Such a deposit is to protect the landlord from damages, but they can sue if the damages are beyond the amount of the deposit.

So it sounds like they MUST sue in a court of law in order to get any more money?

Yes, and they will have to prove the damages.
