Can my sister can apply for my green card?
    Hi
I am currently in US on a visit visa and my sister who is a citizen resides here. I have a job offer here and I would like to know whether my sister can apply for my green card? If yes, what would be the processing time? Can I get permission to take up the job while the GC is in process?

    Thanks

    Rama

You do relaize this can easily take YEARS... and there is no guarantee you will get it even then...

That's far beyond the time an "job offer" will be valid for.

Your sister cannot apply for your green card; that is an entirely personal issue through the US consulate where you live. You may think you have a job, but this employer, if they want to sponsor you, must prove that no one else as a US citizen can handle this position. So, no, you can't in the US until you get a green card

Your sister can apply for you but it's going to take up to 12 years, plus this is consular processing, you can't change status to immigrant while in US.
