When to call it a quits?
MY BOY says that I'm number one in his heart. I feel that I am not. The most important females in his life are his sister and mother than me. When they want something from him he hope , skips, and jumps for them but when I want something I get excuses and I can't or hold on. He complains to me when they don't give him the same treatment, and when I tell him anything about they he says to stop talking about his family. Am I wrong to feel that I want or need to be number 1? I want that kind of attention. In couple of days it's his sisters birthday and he wants to buy her something and I said that's cool as long as you pay for our bills than that fine , he says don't worry I got it and I ALWAYS get something for my sister on her birthday. I feel hurt and upset because I told him that twice my birthday has passed and I didn't get from you, excuses is what I got. More excuses as he went on saying... They aren't blood related but grew up with each other since birth she's about 10 yrs other than him. She raised him when he was little. She has 5 girls from her husband and he would help raise them . I had told me before that one one them looks exactly like him. How is that possible if they are related? Help me what should I do?

That # 1 kind of attention will be your relationships down fall. You will think he's too dependent on you ultimatley pushing him away.

And the fact that you said" as long as you pay the bills" I think that's kind of spiteful, don't you think? I mean of coarse he's reacting this way, you're making rude comments.

Of coarse he's going to respond in a defensive manner>"i ALWAYS get my sister somthing on her birthday."

I think it goes deeper than what you put on here though, there's a reason why he's not responding to you how you want him to.

There's also a reason why he's not buying you gifts on YOUR birthday.
