    Garbage disposal leak
My garbage disposal is leaking from the body of the disposal, around the area where the "grind ring" is located. I have a Whirlpool Food-Waste Disposal. Is this a fairly easy, DIY repair?

    Only fix is replacement.

When they leak through the body, it's time for a replacement. Easier to replace as a DIY job.

Just to clarify, are saying to completely replace the garbage disposal, instead of trying to replace the part or fix the possible worn seal?

I think to get at the area that's leaking, I would have to take the whole thing apart!

Yes you would. I have never repaired a disposal but have taken them apart to remove a jammed quarter. If it is leaking in the middle, check the output pipe but also look for a hole in the body. Motor seals leak out the bottom.
