I am having a dull pain in my lower right side below my navel. At times I experience constipation and diarrhea. I am not losing weight nor am I nauseated. I am scheduled for a colon screening in 3 weeks. Does this sound like something to do with my colon? There is no family history of colon cancer.

There are too many things this could be. One common thing might be chronic rather than acute appendicitis, just because that's on your lower right. If it stays dull, wait until you see your doctor. If it worsens, call your doctor. If it becomes unbearable, call an ambulance or go to an ER.

I have no appendix. Taken out in '72.
