My boyfriend had a hemorraghic stroke a week ago they removed the blood clot from his brain and got the swelling and pressure on the brain to go down but he is unresponsive he is in a coma. He is breathing on his own and all of his organs are functioning properly and have no damage. What I need to know is how long is he going to stay in a coma does he have a chance of ever waking up

I am so sorry, but that is not a question that can be answered. Only time will tell you what will happen.

His organs may be functioning, but what about his brain? Particularly the brain stem?

This is not a question you can get an answer to online. This is one that needs to be presented to the neurologist(s) taking care of him. I can't even give you a percentage considering I don't know his medical history, nor can we review his labs and his radiological studies.
