I am looking for some help in a deportation hearing that I have coming up for my husband . He and I have been married since 2008 and when we did get married he had overstayed his visa. Now we are facing a deportation hearing on sept 8 2013 for the reason of overstaying his visa. I am extremley worried and wondering if this is a legal proceeding that I can go to without consel. Due to financial issue and myself being the only one working in the household that also houses our 2 small children. I have been told that I can request an adjorned date due to not having a lawyer if anyone could help seek pro bono help or offer advice I am at my breaking peek scared to have my family ripped away for something I cannot control. I would appreciate any assistance. Thank you

Sorry if this comes across as cold as its not meant to be... but you knew they only had a visa when you got married and had kids... not everyone with a Visa can get or even will get a green card, kids, marriage or not.. A lot of people make that mistake under the misconception either will automatically change everything... it doesn't.

You would be best served if you did hire a lawyer (scrape the money together somehow)... because you do get what you pay for...

You already know what's going to happen if you don't.

His deportation date is likely to come before you find anyone to do it pro-bono... IF you ever find anyone to do it pro-bono.

I suspect that would only be possible if you became aware of the hearing at the last minute (figuratively speaking) and didn't have time to hire an attorney. It shouldn't be an excuse to forever forestall the hearing, but who knows, what with the lawless administration in Washington refusing to enforce those laws it doesn't want to enforce.
