I gave a contractor $1500 deposit for a screen room. 3 hrs after signing I called to cancel, the saleslady already cashed the check. 3 days later I was called by a person from the company saying a check will be sent. We sent a certified letter but they were never around to receive it. We received a call from owner verifying the cancelled order and return of deposit. 2 weeks later nothing. What options do I have?

Small claims court. See your state website for fee and procedure. You get the fee (often $50) if you win. Many states allow for the defendant to just pay before you have to show in court. If you win and they don't pay anyway, you have to sue again, and some people never get paid.
