    Drywall Hole Repair
 Help- I have repaired holes in drywall before. This one puzzles me. I wanted some advice before I attempted to fix it. We were trying to put up a decorative shelf. We have it perfectly measured and need to place the shelf at a certain place in the room. The shelf kit came with a self drilling anchor. It didn't work. It made the hole to large and the shelf fell. We drilled a hole and put in a anchor. I don't know why but it didn't work. Now we have a hole larger than any anchor should fit in and the shelf needs to be at that point. If I just patch the wall will it be strong enough to hold the shelf? The hole is about the size of a dime. I need to figure out what I can do. ANy Ideas??

Have you tried an anchor that has a machine nut mounted between two spring loaded wings? With this you put a fairly long screw through the shelf bracket abd screw it into the winged nut. Shove it through the hole, let the wings spring out, and tighten the screw. These fasterers come in different sizes, and should provide the most holding power. I hope this helps.
