Blood clots after having teeth pulled
I just had four teeth removed yesterday about 1 pm, and its now 24 hours later, I woke up this morning and felt something gewy and large in my mouth, it scared me so I ran to the kitchen sink and let it drip out of my mouth. Friends said it was a bloot clot that came out, it was very large, I didn't know something so big could come out of a hole in my mouth. Should I be worried about this? I have been having a lot of pain today... and the pills that I'm taking aren't helping... What should I do?

Call the dentist who pulled the teeth and let him/her know about this.

Did you get a sheet(s) of instructions for follow-up care?

The only paper that was given to me was about my stitches, stating that they will disolve on there own in 5-7 days, but that is all. So I read online about the blood clot.

You must have done something to dislodge those important blood clots. Are you a smoker? Did you have solids for supper?

    Yes, call your dentist ASAP?

I do smoke, however from the last time I had teeth pulled I knew not to smoke, I haven't smoked at all since I got my teeth pulled, and I had nothing solid to eat, I had creamy mashed potatoes for dinner yesterday, and haven't eaten since, do to the pain. Thank you so much.
