    Fired from my job
    I was fired from my job after I was attacked I was sprayed in the face by my boss with a ear cleaner for pets police were called and a charge of battery filed
    Now my boss was under contract as the pet groomer for a animal hospital, after the vet flushed out my eyes I was told to call the police as this was not the first time she has assaulted someone that worked there. Do I have any recourse as to the loss of wages.

    They have to pay for hours worked. If you lost work hours over the incident you don't necessarly get paíd for that, at least if you are hourly. If you were still on the clock you can dispute that. But you should get a pay for hours actually worked regardless. At least that's the USA labor law.

    This person was the boss of the vet, the owner of the practice? Hard to believe. Who told you to call the police, and who fired you? You might be able to sue for lost wages - you don't just 'get' lost wages any other way. And the person you will be suing is the owner.

    No this person was under contract with the vet. The vet there and the office manager told me to call the vet is the owner

    Was the person who assaulted you terminated too?

    That person was the head groomer and she was fired she fired me and they fired her

    Was told by the vet that's owns the place two give them a until this past Monday when I called they had a new groomer in place

    I'm sorry. They must have thought that you were not willing to avoid confrontation with the person who assaulted you - that's often how it goes. They just fire everyone involved. Now the question is should you sue, and for what? You can certainly try. Small claims will have a filing fee of about $50 (look on your state web site). You will have to write your complaint and state what your monetary losses are. The vet will have the chance to just pay the claim instead of going to court. If you end up in court, you still might lose...
    I would write a letter to the vet asking for compensation of a fixed amount (don't just ask) for x hours of lost wages and pain and suffering, (which doesn't have a monetary value). Give 10 business days to respond and say that you will file small claims on the 11th day.
    I'm not so sure you have a case, especially for lost wages (unless you never got paid for the hours you worked before you got fired). There was nothing illegal about firing you. Pain and suffering is often not allowed in small claims, but you could say that you couldn't work for a while because of your eyes. Small court judges often have to make their own judgments that aren't cut and dry legally, so it could go either way.
