    Grey, Waxy Sore
About a year ago I developed a constant, dry cough. My doctor gave me an inhaler and sent me on my way.

However, ~2 months ago I noticed a strange sore on my ankle. No injury was suffered, but there it was.

It's gray, waxy(almost like a bubble over the surface) and slightly itchy. It doesn't go away. I've actually removed the sore before and found a clean patch of slightly bloody tissue. No visible infection.

WebMD obviously returned a cancer diagnosis(as usual?). However, upon further research, the cough, fatigue, weight-loss and more kind of make sense given the timeframe that the sore developed.

I will of course see a doctor soon, but I'm curious to hear what else it could be. Thanks!

Given your medical history, I would just go to the doctor. Could be a number of things from a simple blister to some obscure genetic disorder. It is so hard to say given the information provided and it's almost impossible to provide enough information online to suggest anything.

It is just easiest to see the doctor.

As you've found, through WebMD, a diagnosis cannot be made over the internet. This could be a multitude of different diagnoses that aren't even connected.

Your doctor is your only solution.

I have had a tendency to dry coughs my whole life. I consider that unrelated to my other conditions.
Now that I am in my late 60s, I am getting a not quite sore 'spot' or two on the front of my legs just above my ankles, lasting for months, attributed to vascular conditions, along with bumpy and waxy skin, also just in the front. I have HBP.
Change to the skin of the lower legs is very common as we age, especially if we are overweight, have HBP, and have any circulation problems - mottled colors, waxy bumps, and sores or spots that look like they could be sores, and are often crusty or turn crusty. I saw this in both parents.

This is just me. Obviously you may very well be quite different and we don't know how old you are, or your heart health. And you are losing weight, not gaining. And inhalers didn't work for me; I have to occasionally take antibiotics for coughs if I can't get rid of them for a month or more.
