I live in France. I am known in my school as the English girl who can't get a date. I am the only girl in my class who hasn't got a boyfriend, apart from one girl, who just broke up with her boyfriend and is already getting people asking her out.

I have asked a few guys who I really liked, and all of them said no because I’m English. I know it shouldn't bother me, but it does, especially since all my friends are constantly with their boyfriends which makes it worse.

In two years, I am moving back to England to live with my dad. I was wondering whether it would be different over there?

Depends on your age and attitude more than location. How old are you? How long have you been in France? Do you speak the language well?

I'm fourteen, I speak fluent french, I have lived there since I was 5

I have no idea what they are thinking, but I will say something you probably already know: there is a centuries old rivalry between England and France. If it's that ancient, and it might be, that is very sad.

I don't understand though, these boys are fine talking to me, being my friends, but none of them want it to be more than that.
It might just be me though, which is a bit upsetting, but I can accept it, but they all turn around and say it's because I'm english!
Why they OK with being friends with me, but the idea of going out with an english girl horrifies them? I just don't get it!

Not really, I don't have one, my teachers change every year, and this year I was a bit "troublesome", so even the teachers who liked me got a bit "put off".

There are also 30 of us in each class, and lots of people have far worse problems that they go to the teachers for help,so they don't have much time for little problems like this.
My parents I talk to, but they always just tell me I deserve better then, which I love them for, but doesn't really help me figure out why.

Find one of the nicer guys and ask if you can talk to him alone at lunch or something. Tell him you aren't hitting on him but could he please just tell you if he has a sense of what the reasons might be other than you're English. Keep it really short, and tell him he's someone you feel you can trust. (You don't want it getting around but don't say that, just compliment him on trust.)

I would try it, but there are two types of guys in my school, the more "mature" boys, you can trust them, and go to them for advice but would never date them, they are to concentrated on studying and other stuff..
And of course the "popular guys" that make great friends to mess around with, and are great in couples, but are not the type of person you trust with personal stuff, unless you want every one of their mates to know (or if you're with them, in that case you're ok).
So the guys who wouldn't tell everyone about it won't know about it!
It's a bit complicated...

I get along fine with most of the girls that I know, of course there's always going to be a couple of girls that you don't really like but apart from that, they are all nice to me.

Yes I do, I'm really close to 3 girls, but none of them understand why either...

You must not be in the "popular" clique with the girls, or the guys. Trust me has nothing do with you personally, but the "status" of your school mates. No doubt there are guys too shy to be talking to the girls. The so called nerds who bury their heads in the books and seem to have no friends and the girls, even you, ignore them for the mature popular crowd of guys.

There are a few people like me who have friends who are both in the popular clique and who are "geeks".
They go around in a big group, so they are never really alone, and none of them are in couples, but not many of them have trouble talking to girls as friends.
They just aren't really interested in anyone, but as you said maybe some of them are a bit too shy to talk to girls about that sort of thing.
