    Oxycodone
I had shoulder surgery o Tuesday and I was given oxycodone for pain mess. When I take the drug I get itchy and I can't tell if I have developed a rash or if I have dAmaged my skin from scratching. I have also noticed that I have some mild swelling around my ankles. Should I stop taking this medication?

You should leave a message with your doctor's office saying all you said here.

Painkillers are for pain only, so it really is a good idea to taper down as long as you can tolerate it. You want to get off oxycodone as soon as you can so that you don't develop a tolerance.
More hours apart, and alternating with Tylenol, might be good. Each person is different when it comes to pain.
Where are you itching? Get a spray can of cortisone, or a tube of cortisone cream (cheaper per volume).
If the swelling around your ankles is slight and the same on both ankles, I wouldn't worry too much.

I've heard from addicts that oxycodone does make some people itchy. You need tell the dr you are having an allergic reaction. Quit taking them. When I need pain pills I only take them when I can not tolerate the pain any more.
