After hitting my head (yesterday) in a wave pool, I heard cracking in my neck. When I stood up, everything in the pool and sky appeared yellow. Within 5 minutes normal colors came back. Today, my neck is very sore and stiff. Since I never lost conscieousness, and I don't have insurance I'm not going to see a doctor. Is there anything besides ice and rest on the neck to treat a sore neck? I'm a 42 yr old male, in good shape.

You could have done neurological damage by compressing the top of your spine in your neck. We can't diagnose here but strongly suggest to spend some money and get an x ray to see if no long term damage. Sure pain will subside, but what about after?
