    My bad washer
My Kenmore 800 series washer (model no# 29822800) will not supply water to the tub. The water valve is OK for I replaced it first.

Check the water level switch. You should check parts before blindly assuming they are bad. It's easy to use a meter and find out if a solenoid is bad before replacing it. You will need to remove the hose from the tub end and blow on tube while checking the switch with a meter. You can hear it clicking, but that does not mean it's working. There is a common, water valve, and timer connection on switch. Power comes in at common and goes to the water valve, then when the water puts pressure on diaphragm it switches to the timer contact. A hole in tube will keep it from switching. It goes to the water valves before any pressure builds up from water level. Here are some manuals:

Buy a good digital multimeter and learn to use it. It takes the mystery out of diagnosing appliance problems. You don't have to be a "parts changer" then.
