    Hampton Bay Ceiling Fan Wiring
I have a Hampton Bay ceiling fan with an optional light kit that I am wiring to a new home fan pre-wire outlet box that is controlled by 2 wall switches, one for the fan and one for the light. The outlet box contains 4 wires (black, white, red and copper (ground)). The fan kit contains 4 wires also (black, white, blue and green(ground)). The instructions say to connect black to black, white to white, blue to blue and ground to ground. My question is should I connect the blue light wire to the red wire or not. The instructions for the fan say if the house wiring does not match the fan wiring get an electrician but I don't think it is that complicated.
