A man who is a writer ( I am almost 100% sure its Richard Gere) moves to a small town where he is a vacation home, after his wife gets hit by a car and dies. He finds out she was pregnant. While living in the small town, he meets a woman in town after saving her daughter from being hit by a car, while walking to a diner that is really the only one in town. The main character begins to see and hear weird things in his house such as the alphabet magnets being rearranged into words on the fridge, a bell ringing (that is hanging from a moose head above the fire place) and other weird things. I can't find the name of the movie but it was like a 3 or 4 part mini series on TV.

Richard Gere plays a journalist and his wife played by Debra Messing dies from a car accident.

No, that's not it. I think I may driving myself crazy! I looked at all of Richard Gere's movies and TV appearances and I cannot find anything remotely close. It was a TV 3 or 4 part showing on lifetime movie or bio or something but it was not mothman prophecies. I am certain on that. I can vaguely remember it maybe being called lovely bones, but researching that, its not it either. I guess I may never find out what it is. :(
