    Prickly heat or heart problem?
Got a question involving possible prickly heat or heart problem. I have heart disease which is under control with statins and blood pressure meds. 2 stents put in in '09. Driving home today I suddenly felt heat rising up from my chest to the top of my head combined with an itchy prickly sensation. By the time I got home I was red from head to knees. Quickly went in and took 2 aspirin and a Nitro under the tongue. Checked my blood pressure. It was 166/88 and heart rate at 75. Though hypertensive these numbers aren't alarming. I sat down and assessed. Though heart was pounding at the height of it, it was not irregular. No dizziness, no nausea, no shortness of breath. I decided it must be a reaction to something. Walked the dogs with no further discomfort. The redness was going away. Took a cold shower to cool down. Any thoughts?

Good for you. You did all the right things. I would be more comfortable if you just checked in with your doctor to be on the safe side.

    How old are you ?
