It depends on how torn up you were, the repair job done, and how everything has healed and how quickly everything has returned to normal. There is a couple I know that started the sexy times after four weeks. There are others who've had to wait months.

Depending on how your baby came, C-section or vaginal, is a major factor. With a C-Section your vaginal canal et al. are still 'pristine' but it is a matter of the Large Wound that was created and fixed when they extracted the child. With a vaginal birth it honestly depends on how torn up you were. If it was just minor, 1st degree tearing, then you should be ready to go earlier, but if it was worse, 2nd-4th, then you will need more time because there is a lot more muscle tearing that needs to heal.

When I took the pre/post natal classes this summer they had said that six weeks and you should get checked. If the doctor okay's you then go for it. If they don't then wait. In the end that is the best thing to do. Talk to your doctor to make sure that you're healed enough to have sex.
