Turning left at intersection & getting failure-to-yield ticket
If you are in Ohio and turning left at a light behind another vehicle that is going slow to turn and the light goes from yellow to red as you finish turning & another car coming straight hits your car right in the passenger side back panel near end of car & continues through not stopping until a little down the road as they claimed they didn't see your car only the can in front & that their light was green by the time they were going through intersection & it took then longer to stop because they were going the posted speed limit of 35 mph. The officer gives you a ticket for "failure to yeild" because you were in the intersection turning left & Ohio law says you have to yield to oncoming traffic. Is it worth fighting the ticket if the other person never slowed down clearly before the light changed from red to green with knowledge that a vehicle was on the intersection still & actually made statement they thought they hit the can & never saw your car. Your insurance company is declining their claim seeming the accident 80 percent them at fault & giving 20 percent your fault as the turning left being you & covered your damages minus deductable but will have to cover their damages if you just pay the ticket as that's omission to being at fault for accident? If you then fight the ticket will you need a lawyer? Is it worth fighting in this senerio & being in Ohio? What kind of costs might you have to fight this ? Etc help please

    Pay the ticket.

You should not have entered the intersection unless you were able to be through it by the time the light turned red. So you are guilty.

The other vehicle driver is is guitly too. But that doesn't remove your guilt. Two wrongs do not make a right.

Ohios lights change too quick. Many States say left Hans turnos are automatically at fault.

Surprising that your insurer determined 80/20. But not fighting the ticket will not be an admission of guilt.

You can always fight, just show up and tell judge your side of story.

Are you suggesting that a nulo contendre (or "no contest") plea has that effect in Ohio? Because normally a conviction (equivalent to a guilty plea) does have that effect. And therefore such a conviction would have the result of making the ultimate facts necessary for such a conviction res judicata (judicially established).

Sorry I should have said its not an admission of fault.
