At 10 weeks no heartbeat should I be worried?
    Hi,

When I count the weeks since I conceived I count 8 weeks, however the doctor said its my 10th week. I just got my first ultrasound done yesterday at as the doctor said it was my 10th week. It was not the transvaginal one.

The doctor couldn't hear the baby's heartbeat and said that there was no growth from 9 weeks 2 days. From this they concluded that the baby was dead and gave me a form to get dnc done.

I haven't done the dnc yet, as I hope that maybe if I a bit and get a second one done, it might show something different.
Would you recommend that I wait and get a second opinion or should I get the dnc done?

    Thanks,
    Maryam

At 10 weeks you really need to have a transvaginal ultrasound. I have found a fetal heartbeat at 10 weeks with a dopplar, that's pretty hard to do.

Most likely you did have an early miscarriage. I'm sorry.

I would get a second opinion for sure before a DNC. My wife Toni was told the same thing, she got second opinion, baby is now our 12 year old son Nate. 1st doctor totally wrong.

Does not mean yours is, do not want to give false hope, but I never do anyhting that serious on one doctors opinion
