My husband is 66 years old. He has had diarrhea for two days. The first day he took Imodium gel caps. Today he has been using Pepto Bismal. Neither one has made a bit of difference. The pepto helped that cramping and pain. He now has blood in the stool. The first day he was sick he had a headache and a fever. He drank Gatorade and took Tylenol and the headache went away and so did the fever. He is drinking clear liquids. Is there anything else he can try?

It's time to see a doctor. If no medication is working to ease the diarrhea, and there's blood in the stool, he needs a doctors care. There's really nothing we do online for him.
