I recently took apart my dishwasher to clean all of the build up inside. After putting it back together the dishwasher now won't pump water. Any suggestions?

First... go back and triple check everything... make sure everything is correctly plugged in.

First rule when something doesn't work after working on it... go back and check everythiing you touched... its easy sometimes to plug something in and miss a pin or put something in the wrong place.

Smoothly is right: You may have missed something like how you plugged in the connectors. You should also check the plug-in connectors because a pin can get pushed back in and will look fine on the outside but will have come loose from plastic housing. I see that all the time where it comes loose where it's supposed to catch in the hole. That's probably what happened.
