I have two 1550 gal tanks that are plumbed together to feed my house with 3/4 inch line. A check valve is installed right before a Utilitech 20 gal per min 1 hp jet pump. After the pump the line goes approx. 10 feet to a check valve then to a 87 gal bladder tank and then feeds a 6 bedroom two kitchen and two bathroom house. After a while I keep blowing the mechanical seals on the pumps and I don't know why I need help.

I don't see the function of the second CV.

Are the two large tanks below the level of the pump?

The two tanks are above ground and the pump is in the basement approx. 5' below the ground. The cuton/cutoff points are 30/50. And the second checkvalve before the bladder tank is so the bladder tank doesn't send pressure back to the pump.

How easy are the mecanical seals to replace or can they taken apart and put back together to fix if they are locked up or leaking. The pump is not very old within 6 to 9 months.

At six to nine months, wouldn't the pump be under warranty?

With the tanks above the pump, you really don't need the CV between the pump and the storage tanks so long as you keep the second one. Prime will not be a problem.

I can't imagine why the pump would be failing. If I understand you correctly, this seems to be isolated to this one pump. If that's the case, then it would just seem to be a problem with that particular pump.
